Any state records of driving are automatically cached by the PennDOT agency, at which point you can obtain your copy for a small cost. However, make sure you know which records you want, as there are various forms offered:

• Basic Report: Offers basic information such as name, license type, address, date of birth, and driver’s number.
• 3-year Report: Offers more information than basic, including traffic violations and any actions taken by the department such as loss of licensing within past 3 years.

• Microfilm Document Report: Offered in various time periods which are then provided on microfilm.
• Certified Microfilm Document Report: Offered the same as the microfilm document, yet provides a certified copy.

This is definitely the quickest, most convenient, and fastest option for obtaining your records; however, you will not be able to order certified records through this method, which are only available by mail or office visit.

2. Attach check for $5 or $10 for certified records.
