SCHEDULE ROAD TEST
IL Schedule Road Test
Prior to obtaining your IL driver’s license, you will need to take the IL road skills test. When preparing to take your IL road skills test, you may be able to schedule an appointment by calling the IL DMV. If, however, you are new to the state, and hold a driver’s license from your previous state, you are not required to take the road skills test in IL State.
What You Need to Bring With You
If you are a IL State teen driver that is younger than 18 years of age, you will must bring a Parent / Guardian Certification form with you as well as
- Your current IL State learner’s permit
- A vehicle that holds a valid IL State sicker of emissions testing, a sticker of inspection, and proof of insurance along with the vehicle’s registration.
- The person that accompanies you to your local DMV must also have their license
Once You Pass Your IL Road Test
If you pass your IL road skills test then you will be photographed and issued your IL driver’s license, which will be valid for four years.
If You Fail Your IL Road Test
If you fail your IL road skills test, and are under the age of 18 years, the driver must wait for a at least seven days before retaking the road test. The applicant will have three attempts to take the road test. If you fail, you will need to apply for an extension of your IL State learner’s permit.
