Florida Location and Hours

Because there is an overwhelming need for driving related matters the State of Florida DHSMV agency has offices throughout the state.  Because different department locations handle different matters, it is necessary to know the proper department and location to handle your driving related matters.

Division of Driver Licenses

For all Florida motorists that have driving related matters involving their driver’s license such as testing to obtain a license or a renewal they will visit the division of Driver Licenses. Florida State identification cards are also handled at this location. Other matters that the driver license offices handle are Florida State resident voter registrations and how to become an organ donor.

County Tax Collector’s offices

For Florida State motorists with driving related matters relating to vehicle titles, vehicle identification number verification and license plates it will be necessary to handle the issues with the DMV through their local County Tax Collector’s Offices.

DMV District Office

For Florida State motorists that have driving related matters regarding licenses, rebuilt vehicle inspection, complaints and investigations it will be necessary to visit a DMV District Office.  To obtain further information visit: Office Locations

Administrative Review Offices

Making An Appointment Online

To avoid spending a tedious amount of time in line, you may choose to schedule an appointment for your driving related matter in advanced. Appointments are made online.  For more information or to schedule an appointment please visit: Online Appointment Service and Information System

The State’s Online Appointment Service and Information System allow prescheduled appointments for at some locations:testing such as the CDL HAXMAT endorsement test, the CDL written/endorsement test, take a class E Skills test, take a motorcycle written or skills test

  • Convert an out-of=state license
  • Applying for your first US driver’s license
  • Reinstate a suspended or revoked license
  • Receive a replacement or duplicate license
  • Obtain a state identification card
  • Add or change a name
  • Obtain a learner’s permit
